Richard Pena - Attorney and Mediator

Richard Pena is the founder of Center Court Mediation. He was elected by his peers to serve as the President of the State Bar of Texas from 1998-1999. He is also past president of the Travis County Bar Association, former Chair of the Texas Bar Foundation, and former Chair of the Fellows of the American Bar Association. He currently serves as Vice President of the Fellows of the American Bar Foundation as well as Chair of the ABA’s Commission on Immigration. Richard received the Distinguished Lawyer Award presented by the Austin Bar Association in 2007. You can view the award in QuickTime or WindowsMedia. David Garza is an attorney in the private practice of law as a Mediator Arbitrator in Austin, Texas. Mr. Garza is the President – Elect (2007-2008) for the Board of Directors of the Dispute Resolution Center of Austin, a Fellow at the UT Law School Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution, a member of the Association of Attorney Mediators, and a member of the State Bar of Texas ADR Section.

Former Texas Supreme Court Justice Bob Gammage is a lawyer, teacher, and veteran of both Army and Navy service and retired as Captain in the U. S. Naval Reserve Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. Bob also served on the Texas Court of Appeals, as an Assistant Attorney General of Texas, and in the U.S. House of Representatives, the Texas Senate and the Texas House of Representatives. He serves as a consultant on legal and professional ethics, and is a certified and highly experienced mediator and arbitrator.

Tony Alvarado is a lawyer in solo private practice in Austin, Texas since 2004 serving governmental relations and business development clients. He also consults with bar associations. He is an adjunct professor in the School of Business at St. Edward’s University. He was Executive Director of the State Bar of Texas from 1995-2004.

Tony has been in general practice with various Laredo law firms (1977-1995), representing small business entities, local bank and savings and loan association, a rural school district and local cable company. He also, represented indigent defendants in federal criminal court appointments, and was local counsel for clients in major state court civil litigation in commercial construction, oil and gas matters.
